Previously, alert notifications were subject to the end-user's device settings. If a user’s phone was on silent, or the media volume was turned all the way down, there was a risk that a critical push notification or alarm might go unnoticed.

With our latest platform update, we have engineered a bypass specifically for the alerts you deem critical.

The Enhancement: When a critical alert is triggered within your Cloudtrac-built application, it will now sound at a predefined, clearly audible volume—irrespective of the user's current phone media volume and even if the device is set to silent mode.

This ensures that while everyday, low-priority notifications remain respectful of the user's device settings, true emergencies instantly break through the noise (or the silence) to demand immediate attention.

Contextual and Personalized Volume Configuration:

The volume of the alert will not be a static, universal setting. Instead, it will be dynamically pre-configured and managed based on two primary factors: the individual user and the criticality of the alert.

  • Criticality-Based Volume Scaling: The system can implement a scaling factor applied to the user's baseline volume, directly correlated with the criticality level of the notification:

    • Low Criticality: (e.g., informational updates) - May use the standard baseline volume or a slightly reduced volume to be less disruptive.

    • Medium Criticality: (e.g., warnings, pending actions) - May result in a moderate volume increase (e.g., +25% of baseline).

    • High Criticality: (e.g., security breaches, immediate action required) - Will trigger a significant volume increase (e.g., +50% or maximum allowable volume) to ensure the alert is unmistakable and cannot be missed.

  • System Administration of Criticality: The criticality level for each type of notification will be defined and managed at a system-configuration level, ensuring that all users receive appropriately loud alerts for vital information, regardless of their personal low-criticality setting. This feature is paramount for compliance and response time objectives.
